McTimoney Chiropractic

McTimoney Chiropractic is a unique branch of the chiropractic profession. The technique is named after its originator, John McTimoney, who developed his whole-body style of treatment from those techniques originally taught at the first college of chiropractic, the Palmer College, founded by D. D. Palmer, the originator of chiropractic.

At 25 years old McTimoney Chiropractic is a relative newcomer but McTimoney Chiropractors offer a refined, effective and safe treatment, based on sound chiropractic principles. The technique has a number of distinguishing features:-

·         Gentleness -

To the observer (and usually the receiver), a McTimoney Chiropractic treatment seems extremely light and almost incapable of producing any effect whatsoever. The key to the success of the adjustments, however, is the speed, dexterity and accuracy with which they are performed.

·         Whole body treatment -

A problem in one area of the body may produce compensatory effects elsewhere, as the musculoskeletal system is thrown out of balance. McTimoney Chiropractors prefer not to view any particular problem area in isolation to the rest of the body, but believe it essential to address complete patterns of imbalance at each treatment. To this end 30 minutes is usually allowed for a McTimoney Chiropractic treatment.
